A wedding can be the best day of your life but it can also end up costing a lot of money; there are loads of things you can do to keep the costs down and still have the day of your dreams:
Have a weekday wedding
You will find that a lot of venues and serves charge you more for their services on a Saturday; so ditch the weekend. If you get your invites out far in advance guests will be able to prepare and get the time off.
Create your own package
It can be tempting to go for an all-inclusive package for your big day but you will find that the venue is often adding a margin to each service they are outsourcing anyway. Caters, furniture hire, venue, music, bars can all be sourced directly for often a lot cheaper.
Hire things
Most of the stuff you will use on your big day you will not need afterwards so hire as much as possible; it is a lot cheaper and you can really get the look you want.
Use an alternative cake
Wedding cakes are very expensive and although they look lovely; aren’t always necessary; think outside the box there are other ways to treat your guests sweet tooth.
DIY
Try and do some bits yourself or get friends and family to help out, from decorations to transport, food to invites there is a lot you can do quite cheaply. (Just don’t take on too much.)
Budget
Set out a clear budget from the start and stick to it. Make a list of priorities; what you are willing to spend the money on, what is important to get right and what bits can you loose or cut costs on.
Flowers
Choose flowers that are in season during your wedding, they will be a lot cheaper and easier to source.
