To celebrate Burns Night, Monkey Shoulder collaborated with the events company Kerb to bring a Scottish themed night like no other to one of London’s top venues – The Biscuit Factory.

The event had Scottish themed street food from several different traders, as well as a huge live electric Ceilidh, dancing, addressing of the haggis, highland themed games and a poetry slam corner.

The highlight of the event however, was the Monkey Shoulder whisky den and cocktail bar; with its feature light fixing and wide selection of cocktails and drinks it was the place to be during the event.

The Biscuit Factory is a former warehouse and the space is very large and open, Monkey Shoulder wanted to create an area opposite to this; where people could feel snug and intimate.

We provided furniture for an indulgent, comfortable area, for people to enjoy the event. The red, low level lighting highlighted this feeling and really showed off our furniture in the space.

Monkey Shoulder is a Scottish malt scotch Whisky company that makes delicious whisky’s as well as attending a host of great events across the world with bars and cocktail stations.

They get their name from the term ‘Monkey Shoulder,’ which is a reference to a condition men used to get when turning the barley by hand. Long shifts would make their arm hang down, a bit like a monkeys, hence the nickname Monkey Shoulder.

Monkey Shoulder assures us that although their maltmen are among the few that still turn their barley by hand, there working conditions are much improved and Monkey Shoulder is a thing of the past.
